With my attention span the way it is, it is so much easier for me to read short stories, then it is for me to read whole books. I tend to forget things, and then I have to go back through the books to remember small details about what happened in the story. With the short stories though, I can remember the whole story with ease.
Six Quirky is a great book. I love how well the stories are written and how well they go along with the others, even though they are totally different stories and authors. These could all easily be made into full books and/or movies. The ability to pack so much into a short story and still make it easy and fun to read, is such an art form.
I have to say that How the toilet makers daughter became queen is my favorite story out of the whole book. It takes a little bit to figure out what story you are really reading. But once you do, you will fall in love with it. The message I got from this book, is that for every action there is a reaction. Usually you can't stop the reaction, but this story teaches you, that the future can always be changed if you are willing to change it. This story is a modern day tale of Rumplestiltskin. It reads out well and you can really see where it is going at the end. One day Rumple will get his baby, but today is not the day and this baby is not the one.
There are 5 more interesting short stories in this book. They are all well written as well. I love reading these books. I can sit down and jump right into each story. It doesn't take long to get through these short stories. This book is well worth the money! At only 99 cents it is a steal!
