Beltane Ten Tales of Witchcraft ebook edited by Rayne Hall

There have always been tales of witches. The Salem witch trials are probably the most well known in history. Where sadly a bunch of normal human women were murdered simply because others feared they were witches. I remember growing up and seeing the Wizard of Oz for the first time. I thought all witches were bad until I saw Glenda. From then on out, witches have been both good and evil. There are some amongst us that claim to be a witch to this day. I can't say for sure if there are any real witches, but one thing I do know for sure is, when witches are involved, it's always a good story!

I was pretty excited to read this book. Witches interest me. I find it fascinating that one person can cause something to happen to someone or something without lifting a finger basically. A few chants or potions and the deed will be done. Although if you go the witches we see on tv and movies, you wouldn't know what to expect. If you go by something like Charmed, it makes being a witch seem glamourous and fun. If you go by something like Sabrina the Teenage Witch you see that it could be a bit of a burden and a learning process. There are so many ways to think of a witch and what a witch should be. I couldn't dive into this book any faster!

When it comes to the stories, I would have to say that "An Accidental Witch" is my favorite. It is also the first short story in this book. A wiccan with a witch for a friend, gets into a situation after taking a bottle that enclosed a genie. She was able to get out of the situation by using magic well above her skill level. Google really can work wonders! While she was finding a binding spell, she also did a love spell for herself and finally got her man. She soon found out that he had wanted her for years, and just needed a little push.

To me, this story is all about going for what you want. Don't sit back and wait for something to happen. When you take your life into your own hands, there is no telling what you can achieve. Sometimes you just need to open your mouth and good things will happen!
